ARTIST’S  STATEMENT AND BIO

I am primarily a self taught artist although I have studied commercial art at Oxnard college in Oxnard, California and life drawing at Ventura college and figure drawing and pastel painting at California Art Institute in Westlake Village, California.

I paint primarily in pastel but I also use oil and acrylic as a medium for some subjects.

My realistic style of painting allows me to capture a moment in nature as I see it and hopefully to create an awareness in the viewer to preserve and protect our natural environment . My subjects are landscapes, portraits, pets and animals both wild and domestic.
