The spirit and
philosophy of Alley Fine Art, and of its creators, Donna Tubis
and Michael Crass, is based on these simple ideals. The artists
are the key mixture in the ever-changing palette of colors,
textures and medium.
Born in 1953, Michael C.
Crass began his career as a photographer at the age of fourteen.
For many years he has been taking photos world wide…Under the
sea…In the jungles of the Rain Forest…Searching for Anacondas in
Bolivia…To the beauty of Hawaii…Europe…And the Far East.
Around the same time Michael started working
with metal, creating sculptures that are always slanted toward
the human element. Michael says, “Steel is so cold but with
interaction from people, metal sculptures can become warm and
friendly.” His metal sculptures are multi-faceted and have been
described as “Innovative” and “engaging.” Some have strings you
can play…Others have moving parts…Even lights that you control.
Michael has also added a new dimension to
his artistic repertoire with what he calls “Theme Boxes.” These
are abstract, colorful backgrounds incorporating three
dimensional items as theme enhancers, along with carefully
placed floating images creating a unique work of art.
Michael has received numerous awards for his work and has been
published many times, including Nikon magazine.
