Trish McKinney
Trish McKinney is an
award winning artist whose work is featured in
private collections all over the United States
and Europe. She is an exhibiting member of the
National Watercolor Society, the International
Society of Experimental Artists, the Western
Ohio Watercolor Society, and the Ohio Watercolor
Society.
Trish
attended Louisiana Tech University, where she majored in Art
Education and Graphic Design. She then went on to become a
Graphic Illustrator for the United States Army, proudly
serving her country for eight years. Trish has been teaching
watercolors since 1995 and painting professionally since
1989.
Her mission is to give more than what she has been given
through teaching. She believes it is only through giving
her passion and talent to others that she will discover her
true potential as an artist.
Trish describes herself as a conduit of color and her style
is graphic,, bold, and colorful. Sensual shapes, emotional
color, and the relationships of the human spirit, is what
intrigues this artist the most. Her personality is
best suited to the spontaneity and vibrancy of aqueous
media.
Her mixed media pieces speak of spontaneity and sheer joy.
Her transparent watercolors speak of stories that must be
told. Emulating the Creator is what connects them.
A former resident of Charleston, South Carolina, the artist
now lives in Ohio with her family. Part of her spirit is
still in the South Carolina Low country, which still
inspires many of her paintings.
"I shut my eyes in order to see" is one of her favorite
quotes because it reminds her of how it all started for
her...imagination.
